No matter the issue, you must take a car mentioned in this recall to a dealer for a checkup. Ford

Ford’s woes started in December last year when an issue with the driveshaft led to a recall of almost 200,000 F-150 pickups. The initial communication explained that underbody heat and improper installation of noise insulators could come in contact with the driveshaft and cause a fracture. At the time, the recall only included specific Crew Cab 4×4 trucks with a 145-inch wheelbase. But it seems that more than 50,000 regular cab F-150 trucks have noise insulators that can damage the driveshaft. You can get more information on this recall on the NHTSA website. Also, if you drive an F-150, take your vehicle to a dealership for a free inspection. Dealers will inspect and repair the driveshaft as necessary and properly attach the underbody insulators, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Sept. 5, 2022. Kia

Kia is issuing a recall for almost 30,000 Sedona minivans and Sorento crossovers made in 2016. A problem with the shift lock lever makes it possible for some models to shift out of park without pressing on the brakes. The specific models in the recall are:

2016 Kia Sedona, manufactured between April 27 and June 27, 2015.2016 Kia Sorento, made between April 27 and July 9, 2015.

If you drive any affected models, you must take your vehicle to a Kia dealer for a free inspection. In addition, you’re entitled to a free replacement of the automatic transmission shift lever’s assembly components if your vehicle is faulty. GMC

Drivers of several GMC vehicles must be aware of a problem concerning the seat belt buckle system. As the NHTSA explains, “the rivet that retains the buckle to the mounting bracket in the left or right side third-row seat belt buckle assembly may have been improperly formed.”   Affected vehicles include certain models produced in 2021-2022 equipped with third-row seats:

Cadillac Escalade.Escalade ESV.Chevrolet Suburban.Tahoe.GMC Yukon and the Yukon XL.

Take your vehicle to a dealer, who will inspect the rivet head formation on the third-row seat belt buckle assemblies. If needed, the dealer will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Sept. 26, 2022. Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Motors North America is recalling almost 80,000 2019-2022 Outlander Sport vehicles over a software error in the transmission control unit. The error “may incorrectly reduce the transmission gear ratio at high speeds,” leading to the engine stalling. If you drive a 2019-2022 Outlander Sport, take it to a dealer for a software check.
